I purchased an iPad Pro 12.9 model primarily for viewing my sheet music. I was using forScore for displaying sheet music for a long time, and then I stumbled on the Songbook+ app. A few tyros users were using this app, and it had a way to communicate with the Tyros via Midi messages. This meant that selecting a registration on the keyboard could automatically bring up the correct sheet music PDF. This was a bit of time saver. But I was struggling to justify the £43.99 price tag for the app on this basis alone.
Songbook+ also has the ability to be connected with page turning pedals. I didn’t want to justify having another pedal on the floor (nor the additional cost), when the FC5 pedals I had are programmable on the Tyros. I spent a lot of time working out how I could press a pedal and have songbook+ turn the page for me. There was a bug I found in the songbook+ code which gave a red herring failure (I raised a support ticket, and worked with the developer to identify this – the support is excellent on this app).
So now, when I select a registration on the Tyros and load the first registration, Songbook+ will load the correct PDF. Pressing on my selected foot pedal will then cycle the through the pages.
If you’d like to set this up yourself, please follow the procedure below.
